Engineered Systems

Ensuring resident safety and well-being is the most important priority for assisted living building owners and operators. That's why Trilogy Health Services reimagined their existing wood-framed design to cold-formed steel (CFS) and MAXTERRA® MgO.

For this 73,777 square foot assisted living facility in Portage, MI, Trilogy Health Services worked with an expert project team to redesign the building with structural strength, fire protection, and resident safety in mind. Originally designed with traditional wood framing and a metal pan and concrete deck system, the project transitioned to cold-formed steel framing and MAXTERRA® MgO Non-Combustible Single Layer Structural Floor Panels to improve constructability, performance, and schedule efficiency. The combination of Intellisteel’s offsite precision CFS framing system and MAXTERRA® panels provides a cost-saving and time-saving solution designed to last for years.

In assisted living facilities, heavy wheelchairs can cause damage to flooring systems where wet-laid gypsum was used, particularly when not given time to properly cure. MAXTERRA® subfloor panels enable project teams to Skip-The-Gyp® by fastening durable, fire resistance, sound-deadening MgO panels directly to the CFS framing. Sound mats and floor coverings further help to deaden sound transmission.

Ensure resident safety and well-being with lasting durability with MAXTERRA® MgO Non-Combustible Single Layer Structural Floor Panels.
